Lance Trumbull

Lance Trumbull is a motivational speaker, filmmaker, adventurer, and author.

Lance is the founder and executive director of The Everest Peace Project. He organized, created, and was the expedition leader for the EPP's history-making Everest Climb for Peace. He helped successfully co-lead 10 people to the summit of Everest. Lance also directed and produced the film - Everest: A Climb for Peace. The film is narrated by Orlando Bloom and hailed by The Dalai Lama as a "tremendous achievement".

Lance has given speaking engagements and special screenings of his award winning film at Nike, MacFilmmakers at Apple Computers Headquarters, Salesforce.com, REI, lectures at college campuses in the US, speaking engagements in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, and talks at Rotary Clubs and other organizations. He has done radio and television talk shows - has been interviewed by CBS and NBC, and has spoken about The Everest Peace Project's historic Climb for Peace all over the globe. Lance has given talks to people of all ages, including to high school and college students at schools across the world.

He left America to start a life as a "mountain-climbing pilgrim" and in the process founded The Everest Peace Project. Lance is an avid explorer who has traveled all over the world in the search for adventure. He is also a musician and has played the drums for over 25 years. Throughout his teenage years and into his twenties, he was a karate instructor-teaching young children self defense and discipline. Many years of his recent life were spent as a used book dealer, selling books to people all over the world.

He went to school at UC Berkeley, where he studied religion under world famous scholar Huston Smith. Being a Buddhist he has actively tried to lead a compassionate and mindful life. His passion has been mountain climbing and exploring - he has spent many months trekking and climbing through and on mountains in Nepal, Tibet, China, Mongolia, Russia, and India. In 2002 he climbed Mt. Elbrus in Russia, summited a couple of 6000 meter peaks in Ladakh, and spent time on Everest in Tibet. In July 2005 and 2011, he successfully led the Kilimanjaro Climb for Peace teams to the roof of Africa - and on May 18th, 2006 his Everest Climb for Peace summited 10 climbers.

Lance just wrote his first children's book. The inspiration to write it came from his young son, Kaden.
